BS/MD, BA/MD, and BS/DO programs (aka, direct med programs) are some of the most difficult to get into, more than many Ivy League schools. This is the case even if your child has good grades and a high ACT or SAT score.

Which extracurricular activities should your child participate in to stand out? How many patient hours do they need? How long do they have to be involved in research? What about volunteering and community service?

There is so much misinformation about what it takes to get into direct med programs. Whereas some of what you read and hear is accurate, much of it isn't. How do you decide? Even worse, you may be worried that your child is making a critical mistake that will ruin their chances of getting into direct med programs, or finding the right information too late. Getting things right is critical if you want to help your child bypass the notoriously difficult medical school admissions process later on. If approached the right way, your child can avoid the MCAT and perhaps even obtain their degrees sooner.

We can help your child stand out to get admissions committees' attention. Our highly individualized, data-driven, and exclusive approach to direct med admissions consulting will allow your child to develop a unique profile throughout their high school years and demonstrate their standout qualities through all of their college application materials. That way, we maximize your child's odds of getting into BS/MD and other direct med programs.

In fact, during the past 15+ years, over 90% of our qualified students have gotten into at least one direct med program.

Our BS/MD students’ results

Below are some examples of our students’ successes with BS/MD programs:

How we support our students

Once our students complete the application process, we like to have a debriefing conversation with them to understand how we can support students better and better each year. The three points our students consistently mention about why they appreciated our support—beyond our students' 90+% success rate of getting into direct med programs are:

Reputation for Quality

When we say "unlimited" essay support, we mean it. We once edited a student's personal statement 14 times until it was strong enough to submit. Now, most of our students' personal statements don't take that long to edit (most students need 3-4 rounds), but we want to emphasize that we'll do whatever it takes to help your child get in.

Fast Turnaround Times

Shemmassian Academic Consulting Incredibly Fast Turnaround Times.png

We commit to our advertised 24- to 48-hour turnaround times. Whether your child’s primary advisor is ill or has to deal with an emergency, they send their essay before a major holiday, or anything else, someone is available to step in and support your child.

Total Support

Shemmassian Academic Consulting Technical And Emotional Support.png

In addition to asking us technical admissions-related questions and sending us material for editing and review, your child should never hesitate to reach out even if they just want to vent. The direct med admissions process is intellectually and emotionally tough. We want your child get into their dream school, and also to feel optimistic, motivated, and supported.
